Canadian BESS Supply Chain & Trade
Wednesday, October 9, 2024, 1:10 PM - 2:00 PM

As one of the most frequently deployed storage systems in Canada (and the world) currently, there is a lot of focus on the supply chain for lithium-ion based batteries, both grid-scale & for electric vechiles (EVs). The current supply chain is limited to a few key players, however, recent events in the global markets have highlighted the potential risks of limited supply chains. Given Canada's current leadership in storage development and deployment, this session will ask industry experts, what are some of the biggest vulnerabilities of the current lithium-battery supply chain? What would you identify as the greatest opportunities for Canada to play a role in this supply chain? What steps can be taken to better incorporate end-of-life recycling of mineral resources into this supply chain?
