Alberta is currently undertaking discussions that could result in some of the largest changes in market design since its inception, the pathway to the restructured energy market (REM) raises a number of questions. This final panel of our conference will focus on what the potential changes under consideration could mean for energy storage resources in the province as it looks to secure much needed resiliency and reliability for ratepayers, while maintaining affordability. This session will ask industry experts, what challenges are energy storage resources facing in the current Alberta market? What potential changes might REM make to promote new products and markets for energy storage in the province? What critical changes need to be made to provide a clear economic path for energy storage in the Alberta market?
