Commissioner Pelletier’s presentation will outline the Canadian Coast Guard’s current priorities as it prepares to navigate the challenges ahead. He will discuss how new ships and changing technology require new approaches to recruiting, training, and retaining talent.  Commissioner Pelletier will also describe how the Coast Guard’s diversity and inclusion initiatives, including strong partnerships with Indigenous Peoples, will ensure that the Coast Guard reflects the diverse populations it serves. Service to Canadians has always been at the core of the Coast Guard’s mission, from marine communications and traffic services to environmental response. Commissioner Pelletier will discuss how the Coast Guard’s services will be bolstered by investments in its assets and its decarbonization efforts.
