Jim Carr joined Seaspan shipyards in October 2018 and is the Senior Vice President for Engineering, Jim brings more than 40 years worldwide experience in shipbuilding, planning and engineering. Jim is responsible for managing the engineering team of more than 250 direct employees at Seaspan as well overseeing the technical network of suppliers of another 400 Designers and Engineers supporting 5 major NSS concurrent build and support projects for Canada. Prior to Joining Seaspan, Jim was employed by Raytheon Australia and General Dynamics Bath Ironworks where he held senior leadership positions as part of the USN destroyer programs as well as the RAN Air Warfare Destroyer Programs. Jim is a 1982 Graduate of Maine Maritime Academy, receiving a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering.
