Jim is a 1982 Graduate of Maine Maritime Academy with a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering. He
has been in the shipbuilding industry for forty three years and has had the privilege to directly contribute
to the design of many complex lead ship designs including the Arleigh Burke , Zumwalt, and Hobart
Class Destroyers as well as the San-Antonio , Independence and Lewis and Clark class vessels for the
USN.
Jim joined Seaspan shipyards in October 2018 and is currently the Senior Vice President for Engineering.
He has responsibility for executing the engineering development of 5 major design programs ongoing at
Vancouver shipyards and has directly contributed to Seaspan’s transformation into what is now becoming
the Ice Pact.
