Tim Protheroe has been part of the maritime industry for over four decades. Originally serving 15+ years at sea with tours of duty on a wide range of vessel types for Shell Tankers, China Navigation and Swire Pacific Offshore, before heading ashore in the early nineties. Since that time he has spent nearly 30 years in Ship Classification occupying roles of increasing leadership responsibility in the UK, Denmark and the US. He joined Bureau Veritas in 2019 and heads up Marine and Offshore activity for the group in North America. A Master Mariner with dual UK/US citizenship, he has lived in the US since 1997 and Houston since 2003.
