David Lloyd graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering and subsequently from University College London with a Master of Science in Naval Architecture.
David served as an officer in the Royal Canadian Navy, both in marine engineering and naval architecture, during which time he was based in Victoria, Ottawa and Halifax, as well as in Plymouth, UK. After leaving the Navy, he joined Lloyd’s Register in London in a marine consulting capacity. Since then, he has held a variety of technical and managerial positions in marine consultancy, plan appraisal services, business development and in developing and implementing marine and offshore strategy for LR in the Americas and globally. He is currently the Energy Transition Programme Director for Lloyd’s Register. David is a Chartered Engineer in the United Kingdom and a Professional Engineer in Canada.
