Jeff Otto attended Lakehead University completing a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology and a BSc. in Physics. He joined the Naval Reserve serving in destroyers, minesweepers and other training vessels. He trained with the Regular Force at the Naval Officer Training Center (NOTC) in Esquimalt where he completed all levels of Maritime Surface Officer Training. He worked as a Training Coordinator at NOTC, Military Career Counsellor at the Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre and Executive Officer at HMCS Discovery retiring from the RCN in 2019. In Education he has worked at UBC as an Engineering Cooperative Education Coordinator and currently he is the Cooperative Education Coordinator for the BCIT Marine Campus where he works with students in the Marine Engineering and Nautical Sciences Diploma programs.
