Karl Wirén leads a team focused on advancing the green shift in the maritime industry. He works as Vice President of the Green Team in Aftermarket Sales at Kongsberg Maritime. Earlier, Karl was a Business Development Manager, focusing on the hybridization and electrification of ships. Karl’s career began at Rolls-Royce in 2018 as a trainee. When Kongsberg acquired Rolls-Royce’s commercial marine division, Karl transitioned into a technical sales role. He holds an Electrical Power Engineering degree from a collaborative program between three Swedish universities and the Swedish Energy Companies. In addition, Karl has been an active board member of the Maritime Battery Forum for the last four years. The forum has over 80 international members from various segments of the maritime value chain, reflecting Karl’s commitment to fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing within the industry.
