Jeremy Rochussen, PhD, is a research program manager and engineer working in the Department of
Mechanical Engineering at the University of British Columbia. He has over 12 years of experience
conducting fundamental and applied experimental research on advanced natural gas combustion
systems. In his current role, he manages a 5-year program supported by Environment and Climate Change
Canada, aimed at characterizing and developing strategies to mitigate greenhouse gas and pollutant
emissions from heavy-duty marine, rail, and on-road applications operating in urban environments. His
research focuses on improving the reliability of emission factors for alternative marine fuels, employing
laboratory experimental methods to collect real-world emissions data from in-use vessels.
