Julie Gascon has been the President and CEO of the Montreal Port Authority since February 2024. A native of Greater Montreal, Julie Gascon began her public service career as a graduate of the Canadian Coast Guard College. Julie spent most of her maritime career sailing on Canadian Coast Guard vessels. Starting in 1998, she also sailed on the global fleet on large ships to obtain her Master Mariner certification. Having held numerous strategic positions within Transport Canada and the Canadian Coast Guard, she was also the Chief Executive Officer of the Pacific Pilotage Authority until her appointment to the Montreal Port Authority. Ms. Gascon holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Montreal (HEC Montreal) and a bachelor’s degree in Nautical Science Technology from Cape Breton University.
