This one-hour lecture will highlight intricacies of correct measurement taking from more complicated prescription eyewear and when to be aware of indications to dispense these less common types of spectacles. This lecture will provide knowledge of vertical imbalance at near, how to calculate necessity, measurements required and how to dispense, an understanding of prism in spectacle lenses, how to predict prism is in spectacles, correct ordering and neutralization of prism. It will also focus on tips on digital design lens neutralization, particularly PALs, how to calculate unknown index of refraction of a spectacle lens and the utilization of on-line calculators for ease and accuracy.
