Keynote session : Pediatric myopia management
Thursday, July 3, 2025
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Description

Treating children with progressive myopia is becoming the standard of care as research has clearly shown the importance of minimizing axial length to reduce the risk of long-term ocular health issues and optometrists see the large quality of life improvements in the children that have their refractive error stabilized. This lecture will touch on common clinical questions and provide case examples in regards to:

  • setting targets for axial length/refractive error progression
  • adjusting treatment when necessary
  • managing younger children and higher myopes
  • combination therapies

The goal of the lecture is to result in attendees being more comfortable in presenting myopia treatments, determining the success of the treatment and being more comfortable handling more challenging cases.
