Dr. Adnan Sheikh holds the position of Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia and serves as a Musculoskeletal and Emergency/Trauma Radiologist within the Department of Medical Imaging at Vancouver Coastal Health. Additionally, he assumes the role of Associate Editor for the "3D Printing in Medicine" journals and previously chaired the RSNA 3D Printing Special Interest Group. Dr. Sheikh attained his medical school education and specialized in radiology in India, further pursuing fellowships in Musculoskeletal imaging and Emergency Trauma imaging at the University of British Columbia.
His professional focus centers on several clinical domains, including personalized patient-specific 3D printing, Marrow imaging, functional musculoskeletal imaging, Bone and Soft tissue tumor imaging, MSK intervention, and Emergency/Trauma imaging. Dr. Sheikh actively engages in collaborative, multidisciplinary research initiatives, particularly in partnership with researchers from the Division of Orthopedic Surgery and Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Notably, he held the role of Radiology Lead for The Marrow study on astronauts at the International Space Agency, which was supported by the Canada Space Agency and NASA, and subsequently published in Nature Communications in 2023.
Dr. Sheikh is recognized as a fellow of both the American Society of Emergency Radiology and the Canadian Association of Radiology.
