Dr. Vivianne Freitas, MD, MSc, is a graduate of the Radiology Residency Training Program at the Brazilian National Cancer Institute with a Fellowship Training Program at the Joint Department of Medical Imaging, University of Toronto. Following the completion of her fellowship program in 2012, Dr. Freitas was awarded The Roberta Jong Award for the research project entitled “Potential Role of MRI in Assessing the Need for Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy in Patients Undergoing Contralateral Prophylactic Mastectomy.” In 2019 she received the Clinical Research Scholar Award by Harvard Medical School. Dr. Freitas obtained her Master in Health Science in Clinical Research from Dresden University, Germany, in 2022. She currently has over 40 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact oncology and radiology journals and has some active research grants at the national level. She is an assistant professor at the University of Toronto, head of research for the breast division of the Joint Department of Medical Imaging, and is a staff member of Princess Margaret Hospital, Sinai Health System, and Women’s College Hospital.
