In 2019, Ysabel was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and, after treatment, was declared cancer-free. In 2020, during the pandemic, she faced a separate lung cancer diagnosis. A two-time cancer survivor, Ysabel channels her journey into impactful work as a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society, complementing her role as a cancer ambassador and advocate. She is a dynamic leader, entrepreneur, world traveller, writer, and professor. Passionate about nature, she enjoys trail hikes with her two energetic Siberian huskies. Ysabel’s resilience and dedication inspire her mission to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
