Description

This tour is a perfect blend of culinary roots experience with local sourcing enthusiasts and ambassadors – Kevin Kossowan with From the Wild, Chef Blair Lebsack from Edmonton’s renowned RGE RD and The Butchery and cheese making at the Nonay family’s Lakeside Farmstead. You will enjoy an adventurous foraging walk in the North Saskatchewan river valley with wild food guide Kevin Kossowan, where you will learn about 10-20 species of wild edible plant and fungus, with a focus on their use in the kitchen. Paired with a tour of RGE RD Restaurant and The Butchery, a butchering demonstration with Chef Blair and a small bits and hors d’oeuvres tasting featuring foraged ingredients. Then a cheese making tour and tasting featuring a wide range of local cheeses – from curds to a funky (in a good way!) mushroom-infused cheddar.
