Jonathan Cheszes has been working in the Canadian renewable energy sector since 2007, with roles in the public sector (Independent Electricity System Operator) and private consulting (Guidehouse and Compass Renewable Energy Consulting Inc.). He has led the development of over 80 MWs of distributed solar, over 300 MW of utility scale solar and over 200 MWhs of battery energy storage across Canada. He has a deep understanding of the integrated issues of energy development, policy and project economics and plays an active role in origination, development, contracting, financing, procurement and asset management.

Jonathan led the team at Compass Greenfield Development that was responsible for bringing first Expedited Long Term 1 BESS projects in Ontario to commercial operation in June 2025, which included engaging municipal stakeholders throughout the process.
