Born and raised in the Yukon, Sophie has a background in chemical and mechanical engineering and experience working on community scale renewable energy projects. During her graduate research, she explored the potential role of green hydrogen energy storage for remote Arctic communities and worked with diverse multidisciplinary teams on pathways towards climate solutions. Sophie currently works as a research analyst with Northern Energy Innovation (NEI) at Yukon University to support renewable energy projects for remote communities across the Arctic. She also collaborates on research initiatives with Accelerating Community Energy Transformation (ACET), including technical energy modelling, community energy literacy, and leading a district heating minewater geo-exchange project in her current home of Cumberland, BC.
