Sean Powers is the Project Director for Fluence in Canada, leading the deployment of over 585 MW of utility-scale battery energy storage systems that underpin the modernization of the electrical grid. Drawing on over two decades of experience across clean tech, heavy energy operations, and defense, Sean offers a rare perspective on managing risk, operational scale, and high-consequence technology delivery.

Prior to Fluence, Sean spent eight years at Shell directing digital transformation initiatives and overseeing heavy completion operations. He began his career in the United States Navy, serving as a Nuclear Submarine Officer and later as Chief of Staff for the Strategy and Policy Division at the Pentagon. His experience seamlessly bridges the gap between high-level energy policy and real-world project execution.

Sean holds an M.B.A. in Data Analytics from the University of North Carolina and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University.
