CEO Roundtable - Leveraging Energy Storage for Ontario's Future Grid
Wednesday, October 9, 2024, 8:20 AM - 9:30 AM
To date Ontario is leading the charge for energy storage in Canada with nearly 3000 MW of IESO contracted storage - more than 10% of peak demand in the province. As Ontario's grid undergoes unprecedented growth in residential and industrial demand in the next decade, energy storage resources will optimize the changing energy mix of the province's grid, but that is only one aspect of its diverse applications. This session will ask some of the leading executives in Canada's energy storage industry, beyond optimizing the grid's resources to maintain reliable and affordable energy in Ontario, what would you count as the most important contributions for energy storage in the next ten years? What next steps can be taken to ensure the province is able to fully leverage the potential of energy storage to contribute to its ambitious goals, such as decarbonization and its supply chain? In a decade's time, what do you think we'll wish we'd done now to ensure the energy storage industry is equipped to meet the needs of Ontario's grid?
