Powering Electrification in Ontario

Discussions of decarbonization and electrification tend to focus on generation, but generation alone is not enough, either to meet the growing demands of the electricity system or the ambitious net-zero goals Ontario has set. Energy storage has a critical role to play in knitting the system together and Ontario’s 2.5 GW energy storage procurement (the largest in Canada to date!) is a fantastic first step. This panel will explore potential next steps and the outlook for storage in the province.
