UBC Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NAME) program was established as a result of the National Shipbuilding Strategy. The program is the only degree granting naval architecture program on the west coast of North America. The goal of the program is to develop multidisciplinary problem-solving engineering leaders in the marine design, production, and operation sectors. This presentation will highlight not only the current program but plans to expand into emerging areas such as undersea technologies and defense. The goal is to have UBC lead a Centre of Excellence in Marine and Subsea Systems.
