Matthew Graduated Plymouth university in 2011 BEng (Hons) Marine Technology. He has 15 years of naval defence contracting, specialising in dry dock refit and mid-life upgrades to naval platforms. After completing a year in industry and Princess Yachts he graduated and took a Graduate Program role with Babcock UK at Devonport Royal Dock Yard, Plymouth, UK. He worked there for 12 years supporting and managing extensive structural repairs and stability considerations for docking, undocking and afloat work, while vessels were under Babcock care and protection. In 2023 Matthew had the opportunity to transfer and support Babcock Canada, since then he has been working on the Victoria In Service Support Contract primarily support HMCS Victoria Refit where he is currently employed as the Naval Architecture Engineering Manager. Here he manages the Engineering team responsible for all Naval Architecture outputs covering major and minor structural scopes of work from initial survey though to paper boat close out and stability considerations during refit.
