Peter Noble is naval architect with a wide range of experience. His 60+ year career has included positions with shipyards; with naval architecture design consultants; with maritime research and development companies; with major classification societies and as chief naval architect with an international oil company operating a wide range of marine equipment including large crude oil tankers, LNG ships, tugs and barges, FPSOs and FSOs

He has undertaken assignments in the UK, Europe, Japan, Brazil, the USA, Singapore, South Korea and China.

He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, CAE, the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, SNAME, the Institution of Engineers and Shipbuilders in Scotland, IES, and the Institution of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology, IMarEST.

Throughout his career Peter has been active in knowledge sharing with his peers, with younger members of our profession and with students. He has published widely and has been an active mentor and a sponsor of numerous student capstone projects at university level. He has been guided by the maxim “knowledge not shared is knowledge lost”.
