Joshua Veber is a Naval Architecture Engineer with the Canadian Coast Guard, where his work focuses on preparing the federal fleet for operations in extreme Arctic and cold-region environments. His responsibilities include ship winterization, ice-capable vessel design, and the technical assessment of systems required to support safe and reliable operations in low-temperature and icing conditions.

Joshua is actively involved in evaluating and implementing winterization measures across a range of Coast Guard vessels, addressing challenges related to system operability, crew safety, and environmental performance in Arctic operations.

He is currently completing a PhD at Memorial University of Newfoundland focused on ice navigation and the environmental impacts of ship in ice-covered waters. Joshua holds both a B.Eng. and M.Eng. in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Memorial University, is a Professional Engineer registered with PEGNL, and a Student Member of SNAME.
