Dr. Claudia Martinez-Rios serves as a Staff Pediatric Radiologist at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and holds the position of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. Her clinical, educational, and research expertise is concentrated on pediatric thyroid pathology, including thyroid carcinoma, cancer predisposition syndromes involving the thyroid gland, and other thyroid-related processes. A distinguished recipient of the John Caffey Award from the Society of Pediatric Radiology, she is recognized for her significant contributions to the field of pediatric thyroid carcinoma. Dr. Martinez-Rios is a dedicated collaborator, working with the SickKids Endocrinology team and from other Canadian institutions on research, clinical, and educational projects aimed at improving care for young patients with thyroid carcinoma. Her central research objective is to develop a more robust risk stratification method for the characterization of pediatric thyroid nodules, with the goal of enhancing diagnostic accuracy and patient management
