Dr. Ferco Berger is a Dutch radiologist who trained in the Netherlands and has 20 years of experience in Emergency & Trauma imaging. After his two years of fellowships in Vancouver (one year each of Emergency & Trauma and MSK imaging), he built a new Emergency & Trauma radiology division at the largest trauma centre in his native Amsterdam.
Since returning to Canada in 2016, he has led a dedicated team of Emergency & Trauma radiologists in creating a new ETR division at the Department of Medical Imaging at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, which includes the nation’s largest Level 1 trauma centre and has ~700 of the 1300+ beds dedicated to acute care, of which 128 ICU/Critical Care beds.

He is the Deputy-Chief (Operations) of the Department of Medical Imaging at Sunnybrook, an Associate Scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute, and an Associate Professor and Inaugural Lead of the Emergency Radiology Division at the University of Toronto. He is 1st Vice President of ASER, Vice President of CETARS and on the ESER Board as a member at large.
