Rei Marzoughi is an energy leader with fourteen years of experience in the utilities industry, specifically with respect to the integration of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) within conventional distribution utility planning. She has spent the last eight years designing and implementing the Local Demand Response program at Toronto Hydro. This program helps address short-to-medium term capacity constraints at targeted transformer stations by identifying opportunities to leverage DERs to support the distribution system cost-effectively. Her team also plans and designs battery energy storage systems that are directly connected to the distribution system to address identified needs. Rei holds a Bachelor's of Chemical Engineering from McMaster University and Ph.D. focused in Sustainability & Civil Engineering from University of Toronto.
