As Vice President of Global Development for Onshore Renewables, Nizar is responsible for overseeing strategy for Northland’s global development team and leading the build-out of a robust and diverse pipeline of wind, solar and storage projects in key markets for the Onshore business unit.

Nizar has 15+ years of renewable energy experience. Before joining Northland in 2018, Nizar was the Senior Director of Business Development for Brookfield Renewables where he spent more than 10 years and was responsible for risk management, PPA origination, acquisitions, and project development. He was also a board member for the National Offshore Wind Research & Development Consortium, an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to overseeing industry research and development of offshore wind.

Nizar holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Finance from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario.
