Dr. Saly Abou Zahra is a consultant radiologist at The Moncton Hospital in New Brunswick, Canada, and an Assistant Professor of Diagnostic Radiology at Dalhousie University. She has extensive subspecialty training across three leading Canadian academic centres, including fellowships in Breast Imaging and Body Imaging at McGill University, Cardiothoracic Imaging at the University of Toronto (Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre), and Thoracic Imaging at the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Zahra completed her medical degree and master’s degree in Radiology at Mansoura University in Egypt, where she also undertook residency and early staff radiologist positions across major tertiary hospitals. She subsequently relocated to Canada, gaining progressive clinical fellowships in Ontario and Quebec before becoming a staff radiologist in New Brunswick in 2021.

Her clinical expertise spans breast imaging, image-guided interventions, cardiothoracic imaging, and advanced cross-sectional techniques. She is an active member of multiple national and international societies including the ESR, CAR, ARRS, RSNA, SBI, CBSI, and the European Youth Club of Breast Imaging. She currently serves on the Canadian Association of Radiologists’ Expert Panels for Breast Imaging and Breast Biopsy Practice Guidelines.

Dr. Zahra’s scholarly work includes peer-reviewed publications in breast imaging, thoracic oncology, renal imaging, and multidisciplinary lung disease assessment. She has contributed to national guidelines, including the CAR Practice Guidelines on Breast Imaging and Interventions (2025) and the Canadian Recommendations on Optimal Breast Biopsy Practices (2025). Her research has been presented at major international meetings such as RSNA, STR, and CAR, with multiple E-posters in thoracic imaging, breast pathology, and immunotherapy-related toxicity.

Dr. Zahra is committed to advancing evidence-based breast imaging practice, multidisciplinary cancer care, and the training of the next generation of radiologists in Canada.
