Moderators: Carolyn Flegg & Saly Zahra

This session will explore advanced multimodality correlation techniques and diagnostic strategies across a range of clinical contexts. Participants will apply principles of triangulation for sonographic correlation of mammographic findings, review the sonographic appearances of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), and interpret contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) cases in both screening and diagnostic settings. The session will also address best practices for breast screening in pregnancy and lactation, emphasizing safety, protocol selection, and clinical decision-making. Through case-based discussion, attendees will enhance their interpretive accuracy and confidence in managing complex breast imaging scenarios.

At the end of this session, delegates will be able to:

  • Apply concepts of triangulation to sonographic correlation of mammographic findings.
  • Describe the sonographic appearances of DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ) and correlate that appearance with mammography and ultrasound.
  • Interpret contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) cases in both screening and diagnostic contexts, recognizing key imaging findings, common pitfalls, and appropriate clinical applications.
  • Identify the appropriate breast screening modalities and protocols for pregnant and lactating patients.

Contrast Enhanced Mammography (CEM) Case Review
Matthew Seidler

This interactive presentation will review a series of contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) cases that highlight its utility in the screening and diagnostic settings, as well as provide interpretation pearls and pitfalls.

COI: Dr. Seidler serves as an international advisory board member for Hologic and participates on expert panels for the Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR) and the Institut national d’excellence en santé et en services sociaux (INESSS). Dr. Seidler has consulting relationships and delivers presentations related to breast imaging and intervention for Hologic, Boston Scientific, and Bracco. Additionally, Dr. Seidler serves on boards for Hologic and Boston Scientific related to breast imaging and intervention.
